CommercialEngineered Arts Ameca (Gen 3, ICRA 2025): 187 cm stationary social humanoid. 61 DoF with 27 face DoF, silicone skin, Tritium cloud AI — multilingual personality switching, museum exhibit standard.
Ameca is Engineered Arts' flagship social humanoid — first shown at CES 2022 in Las Vegas. The 187 cm chassis has 61 actuated DoF, including 27 in the face alone where 27 micro-motors pull silicone skin via tendon-like linkages to produce asymmetric expressions and micro-expressions. Generation 3, unveiled at ICRA 2025, ships with the strongest LLM integration to date and a companion platform called Ami (engineeredarts.com).
The Tritium AI cloud stack handles speech, NLP and TTS, and in 2025 Engineered Arts demonstrated mid-conversation personality and language switching — Ameca shifts from a cheerful English host to a thoughtful French philosopher in seconds. As of late 2025 commercial units remain stationary (bipedal prototypes exist) and require 10–30 °C indoor environments. Configurations span $100K (head only) to $500K (full unit); deployments include the National Robotarium Edinburgh, Museum of the Future Dubai, Computer History Museum, Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum, Copernicus Science Center and Deutsches Museum Nuremberg.
