STAR1 is Beijing-based Robotera's first full-size humanoid, the platform that put the Tsinghua spin-off on the map. October 2024 — Robotera released video of two STAR1 units racing through the Gobi Desert; the sneaker-clad robot held the lead for 34 minutes at 3.6 m/s (8 mph) (techeblog.com).
Specs: 171 cm / 65 kg, 55 DoF, 400 N·m peak joint torque, 25 rad/s peak rotational speed, 12-DoF direct-driven five-finger hand. Mid-2025 STAR1 became the first humanoid to use chopsticks while cooking — demonstrated dumpling making and wine pouring. The successor L7 launched July 2025 pushing top speed to 14.4 km/h.
