$200,000PrototypeDeep Robotics DR01 (Aug 2024): first humanoid from quadruped-robot specialist. 170 cm / 80 kg, 12 DoF, 1.6+ m/s walking, 18 cm stairs, 25° slopes. Lightweight J60 + high-power J100 joints. Predecessor to DR02 (IP66).
DR01 is Deep Robotics' first humanoid — unveiled and demonstrated at the 2024 World Robot Conference in August 2024 (unmannedsystemstechnology.com). The Hangzhou-based company is best known for its industrial quadruped "robot dog" lineup; DR01 is the first bipedal entry, predecessor to the IP66-rated DR02.
The 170 cm / 80 kg chassis carries 12 DoF and uses Deep Robotics' proprietary lightweight J60 + high-power J100 joint actuators. Walking speed 1.6+ m/s; climbs 18 cm steps, 25° slopes, recovers balance on slippery surfaces. Closed-loop learning combines perception + environmental sensing for terrain traversal; the platform autonomously generates new behavioural skills based on changing environments and task requirements.
