David Reger, Neura Robotics | Machina Summit 2026

David Reger, founder and CEO of NEURA Robotics, discusses physical AI, robotics platforms, and open collaboration with John Furrier on SiliconANGLE theCUBE at Machina Summit in Paris.

In this talk

  1. 0:48

A shift in belief and capability

Reger says public confidence in AI has changed since ChatGPT, making people more willing to bring AI into the physical world. He expects a defining moment for robotics within about a year, as embodied AI data and training methods develop.

  2. 4:15

Robotics needs new data and computing

Unlike language models, physical AI cannot rely on an existing trove of training data. Reger says robotics needs human-like sensing and computing that handles fast reflexes as well as higher-level reasoning, and points to work with Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and Amazon.

  3. 5:22

    NEURA’s integrated robot stack

NEURA builds robots that hear, see, feel, and respond autonomously. Reger links the need for these systems to shrinking workforces, estimating six to seven million fewer workers in the U.S. by 2030, seven to ten million fewer in Europe, and over 80 million fewer in China. He says the company combines sensors, hardware, software, and cloud training because the right sensing hardware is needed to create useful data.

  4. 12:01

A platform for shared and private know-how

Reger says NEURA aims to establish a sensor and compute standard, with plans to open-source those stacks. Its Neuraverse platform would coordinate robots and other connected devices, while individual “brain accounts” let companies train systems on their own expertise and license that knowledge without handing it to a single shared model.
