JAKA K-1 is the first humanoid from Shanghai-based JAKA Robotics — a cobot vendor pivoting into humanoids. K-1 debuted as a non-functional prototype at the 2024 China International Industry Fair (CIIF) in Shanghai (mikekalil.com).
The 1.8 m chassis carries 29 movable joints and 14 DoF per arm — among the highest per-arm dexterity counts on the market. A six-dimensional force-control system senses pressure from multiple directions and reacts in real time to avoid excessive force. Sensor suite: depth cameras + touch sensors. Target verticals: electronics assembly and surgical assistance. Currently not available for purchase.
