PilotNVIDIA Isaac GR00T (GTC 2024 → 2026 reference design): open foundation model + reference humanoid stack. Reference hardware = Unitree H2 Plus + Sharpa Wave 5-finger hands + Jetson Thor. 75 DoF with hands. Targets academic / industrial humanoid research.
Isaac GR00T (Generalist Robot 00 Technology) is NVIDIA's open foundation model + reference humanoid platform for generalist robotics — first unveiled at GTC 2024 and formalised as a hardware-reference design in 2026 (NVIDIA Newsroom).
Reference design components: - **Chassis**: Unitree H2 Plus humanoid (180 cm / ~70 kg, 31 body DoF) - **Hands**: Sharpa Wave 5-finger tactile dex hands (75 total DoF including hands) - **Compute**: NVIDIA Jetson Thor for real-time on-robot inference + control
Software stack: Isaac Teleop (demonstration capture), Isaac GR00T N1.7 open foundation models (humanoid reasoning + multitask behaviour), Isaac Lab (simulation / training / testing), Isaac ROS middleware (policy deployment) (GitHub). Researchers retain control of their robot data, training data, telemetry and logs.
Unitree announced H2 Plus as the official NVIDIA Isaac GR00T reference humanoid for academic research in June 2026 (PRNewswire).
