$100,000PilotNaver Labs Ambidex (Korea): cable-driven dual-arm humanoid research platform. 7 DoF per arm + waist, BLT Gripper, 5G remote control. Arm lighter than a human arm — can high-five at 5 m/s safely.
Ambidex is the cable-driven dual-arm humanoid manipulator from Naver Labs — first unveiled in 2017 in collaboration with Korea Tech (naverlabs.com). The robot uses a unique force-transfer mechanism balancing robustness with safety; each arm is lighter than a human arm — Ambidex can high-five a person at 5 m/s without injury.
Each arm carries 7 DoF; an added waist extends the workspace, and a sensor head perceives objects. The BLT Gripper can change between several grasping methods. Ambidex supports high-speed, wireless, real-time control over 5G via the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem.
