Encouraging greener charging
The project applies research-based behavior change methods to EV charging as part of Toyota’s carbon reduction work. ChargeMinder detects charging opportunities and learns users’ patterns to tailor its prompts and app features.

Prompts and progress tracking
The app sends reminders tied to user-selected places and times, and celebrates positive charging choices. It also shows daily streaks and graphs so users can review their habits, alongside short facts and quizzes about charging impacts.

Research infrastructure
ChargeMinder supports a comparison group and uses a mobile app connected to cloud services. Its server stores app interactions, collects US vehicle telematics, and provides live dashboards for tracking field activity and data quality.
