What losing teaches
The host says 729 AMI Robotics won a tournament at Google over New Year’s. The team had also gone three years without a win, which taught the host that setbacks can make later victories more meaningful. The host encourages teams to research, ask others for help, and keep improving even when resources or mentorship are limited.

A visit to UCLA’s RoMeLa Lab
The host took senior and junior students to UCLA to explore campus and visit its robotics lab. A student advisor helped them find the RoMeLa Lab, where they saw its workspace, awards, and the robot Darwin, and spent about 45 minutes learning how the researchers approach robot design.
