RP1 Official Launch | RoboParty’s Fully Open-Source Humanoid Robotics Platform
RoboParty introduces RP1, an open-source humanoid robot platform for robotics research.

Open access to hardware and software
RP1 is designed as a complete research platform, with RoboParty-built actuators that give users direct control over motor behavior. Its mechanical designs, motor controllers, simulation tools, and sim-to-real workflow are open for developers to inspect and use.

Adaptable research setup
Standard interfaces and mounting locations support different research configurations, while internal cable paths and a 24 V power connection are built into the robot. The hand can be replaced with other end effectors, and alternate heads support different tasks. A data collection head uses the same architecture as RoboParty’s Ego device to simplify data capture and alignment.

Synchronized control and capable motion
RP1 synchronizes recorded data with motion commands to within milliseconds for more precise collection. Its actuators are designed for high torque relative to their size, paired with a mechanically human-like structure.

Safety, runtime, and charging
A remote emergency stop and pinch-reducing design address developer safety. RoboParty estimates two to three hours of battery use in typical conditions, and batteries can be replaced while experiments continue. The platform can charge through USB-C at up to 240 W or through a magnetic connection, including while operating.

Research community
RoboParty presents RP1 as a research platform and encourages users to share projects built with it and take part in the RoboParty community.
