A PAL Robotics narrator describes how TIAGo supports daily care tasks at Centre Sociosanitari El Carme in Badalona as part of the SANDRo project with James K. Innovative Technology.

In this talk

  1. 0:07

    Automating emergency call checks

The SANDRo project, funded by DIH-HERO, brings TIAGo into a care facility to assist people with daily activities. When a patient activates an emergency call, TIAGo can patrol the corridor, identify the room by its warning light, and send staff the room number on a tablet or phone.

  2. 1:23

    Checking patients in their rooms

Nurses can direct TIAGo to visit selected rooms. If a door is shut, the robot alerts staff and moves on; if it is open, TIAGo enters, scans the room, and checks that patients appear safe.

  3. 2:27

    Alerting staff to a fall

If TIAGo detects someone on the floor who may be hurt, it sends the nurses' station an alert with the person's condition and room number. This helps medical staff identify where assistance is needed.

  4. 2:49

    Encouraging activity and connection

A nurse can also dispatch TIAGo to engage a patient in an activity. The tablet offers a preview and supports options including music, remote consultations, and web calls.
