Personalized activities for healthy aging
ARI is being used in care homes and older people’s homes to support healthy aging. It first identifies users with face recognition, then offers activities tailored to them.

Games and daily reminders
Residents can use ARI’s touchscreen for matching games, Solitaire, and puzzles, with encouragement from the robot. ARI can also display the day’s agenda and find a resident to remind them about plans such as karaoke or a doctor’s appointment.
- 1:02
Temperature checks and activity sign-ups
ARI can measure temperature and alert caregivers when needed as a COVID-19 measure. Residents can sign up for activities, and ARI emails the organizers for them; it detects people with TRS technology and supports speech interaction.
- 1:44
Meal preferences and pilot readiness
ARI prompts care-home residents to complete weekly food menus and automatically records their requests in the home’s database. These capabilities prepare the robot to begin the SHAPES pilots.
