Mobileye Live Press Conference at CES 2026

Amnon Shashua, CEO of Mobileye, presents the company’s automotive and robotics plans at CES 2026 and discusses its Volkswagen and MOIA partnership with Christian Senger, CEO of Volkswagen Autonomous Mobility.

In this talk

  1. 3:34

    Automotive business and product pipeline

Shashua said Mobileye won 95% of RFQs from its ten largest customers and gained new design wins with Volvo and Subaru in 2025. He reported a $24.5 billion pipeline for the next eight years, more than 230 million chips deployed, and expanding REM map coverage supported by data from eight million cars. He also described Surround ADAS wins totaling 19 million vehicles, with production planned from 2028.

  2. 8:32

Robotaxi plans with Volkswagen and MOIA

Mobileye and MOIA are testing more than 100 ID. Buzz vehicles across European and U.S. locations, including snowy Oslo. Shashua outlined plans for a Level 4-ready vehicle in February 2026 and driverless U.S. service in the second half of the year; Senger described broader expansion after EU homologation in 2027. MOIA’s platform combines fleet control, remote guidance, passenger management, and booking connections, with targets of six cities by 2027 and over 100,000 active vehicles by 2033.

  3. 20:01

    AI architecture for autonomous driving

Shashua explained a system that pairs a fast safety and driving path with a slower vision-language model for interpreting unusual scenes. Mobileye’s ACI approach trains driving policies in map-based simulations with varied agent behaviors and edge cases, while its VLSA model provides semantic guidance rather than steering commands. He said the approach is intended to support validation in new cities and reduce reliance on tele-operators.

  4. 43:13

Chips and the path to scale

Shashua described SuperVision, Chauffeur, and robotaxi systems, emphasizing lower costs and fewer sensors as key to expanding deployment. He said EyeQ7 was sampled and targeted for production readiness in Q3 2027, and that it could run a larger vision-language model onboard. A future robotaxi generation, expected around 2029, could use cameras, imaging radars, and possibly one forward-facing lidar.

  5. 51:48

    Mentee Robotics and physical AI

Shashua announced Mobileye’s move into humanoid robotics through its acquisition of Mentee Robotics, citing overlap in simulation and AI methods. He described Mentee’s 175-centimeter, 72-kilogram robot, which can lift 25 kilograms, and demonstrations involving warehouse tasks and following spoken instructions. The roadmap calls for customer pilots in 2026, an experimental batch in 2027, commercial deployment in 2028, and home applications around 2030.
