A robot built to be skinned
The presenter says Engineer Dart began developing a system for skinned robots two years earlier. The design shown includes a skull, neck, and eyes, and is presented as a robot rather than an animatronic.

Face tracking and smooth movement
Cameras in the robot’s eyes track a person’s face, expressions, head movement, and jaw. The presenter says motion control inside the head produces smooth movement and supports interaction.

Quick-release head unit
The head is designed to be swapped by powering down the robot, moving it into position, closing its mouth, and releasing a button. Power and network connections pass through the base of the removable unit.

Reconnect and self-calibrate
After fitting another head, the presenter reconnects it with a button and powers the robot up. It calibrates its eye center, jaw, and neck after startup, without a manual calibration step.
