A striker misses a clear chance
During a kickoff, the red team sends the ball toward the blue goal, where it settles near the goal line. The attacker moves around the goal frame instead of lining up a shot, giving the blue team time to clear the ball.

Tracing the problem to ball approach logic
The presenter follows the normal-play state into the attacker’s command in `player.py`, which handles chasing and shooting. The failure happens while the player approaches the ball: `walk_to` uses a behind-the-ball position that can send the robot toward a corner when the ball is near the goal line.

Changing the target near goal
For most of the pitch, the existing behind-the-ball calculation works. Near the opponent’s goal, the presenter proposes a special case: when the ball is in the area with X above 4.5 and Y from -1 to 1, position the player just behind it by offsetting the X coordinate.

Checking the revised movement
After accepting the AI-assisted code edit, the presenter tests the red team’s strategy in Booster Studio by moving the ball near the goal. Once the robot recovers from a fall, it follows a direct path, gets behind the ball, and attempts a shot; the presenter also notes that dragging the ball can recreate scenarios for local debugging.
