Robots for handling and machining
KUKA’s booth features machine tending, plant transport, and heavy-duty handling and material removal. A KR TITAN ultra rated for 500 kg works with casting parts, which a KMP 3000 mobile platform moves into and out of the cell. A KR FORTEC ultra uses a 40-horsepower PushCorp spindle to machine parts on a train sidecar.

Machine tending across three CNCs
The demonstrations cover a SYIL three-axis mill, an EMAG grinder, and a Matsuura five-axis machine. Waybo, FORMIC, and other partners provide tailored tending systems for the different machines. The goal is to make automation accessible for small-batch work as well as larger production runs.

A connected design and programming workflow
KUKA is introducing iiQKA with the KR C5-2, using a web-based interface for designers and operators. iiQWorks supports system design and programming through simulation with a virtual controller before the physical robot is available. The resulting program can then move to the installed system.

Partner ecosystem behind the demonstrations
KUKA built its IMTS demonstrations around collaboration with tooling, technology, and machine-tool companies. KUKA supplies robots and mobile platforms, while partners contribute capabilities such as end effectors, vision, and AI tools.
