Automating egg handling
Taskoprojekt combined a KUKA AMR fleet with a robotic arm and a specialized gripper to move egg pallets and packaging, and to palletize and depalletize eggs. The project supports a client whose production is growing.

Designing and simulating the station
The depalletizing station was test-launched at Taskoprojekt’s headquarters and is planned for a new production hall. KUKA.Sim let the client review a digital model and refine the design with the integrator, helping reduce commissioning time, implementation changes, and uncertainty about the final system.

Connecting fleet and operator controls
KUKA AMR Fleet handles fleet logic and task queues, while an API connects it to Taskoprojekt’s operator application. Operators can manage the process through a straightforward interface without needing to work directly with technical system details.
- 2:49
Building conveyors around the AMR
Taskoprojekt designed conveyors that let the AMR pass beneath them, requiring changes to the usual support arrangement. The conveyors can carry pallets weighing up to 1.5 tonnes, so moving the supports outward while removing the central guide support posed a significant design challenge.
- 3:38
Testing for capacity and product care
The application is designed for a throughput of 160,000 eggs per hour. Because eggs are delicate, the team used tests and simulations to develop solutions that met the client’s requirements.
