Starting the SPY build
The host introduces SPY as the third Engineer Kit and plans to build it independently after learning from a manager. They begin by identifying parts and placing the battery plate on the bottom of the assembly.
- 2:08
Building six legs
The host makes six Dynamic Cells, adds idlers and caps, then assembles six matching legs. Grease is applied to the leg joints, and the legs are connected to Dynamixel units with attention to their orientation and markings.
- 10:04
Assembling the body
The body build uses M2 nuts, screws, hinges, a battery mount, and a rivet tool. The host cautions that securing nuts inside one assembly is tricky, then attaches the hinges and connects all six legs to the body while checking Dynamixel numbers and slots.
- 16:28
Wiring and testing SPY
The host mounts the controller, connects the 180 mm and 240 mm cables according to their numbered ports, and attaches the power cable. Using the ROBOTIS Engineer app, they connect over Bluetooth and select SPY; the robot moves on the first attempt.

Reflecting on the build
After assembling Dr. R, MAX-E, and SPY, the host says the earlier builds made it easier to recognize how parts fit together. They describe the SPY assembly as useful practice and thank ROBOTIS for the opportunity.
